My approach to the practice of law is simple:
Your case will be as important to me as it is to you.

If your child has been detained at the Detention Center, contact me or go to The Law Office of Kurt Teifke to discuss your options. The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice has a holding facility for youth who have been charged with a delinquent offense and are awaiting a court hearing or placement in a residential program.

This self-contained program is required to provide for your child's needs while they are waiting there including clothing and hygiene products. The child does not need any money while at the detention center. The Department of Juvenile Justice has adopted the Trauma Information Care approach to working with the youth while the child is being detained in the facility.

Medical and mental health personnel will assess the child within 24 hours of their arrival. All youth held at the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) will sign an Authorization for Evaluation and Treatment form. If the parent is not able to come to the facility to sign the form, then the parent can contact the child's Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO) for assistance.
